Ring Bearer Pillow

My sister still had this from our other sisters wedding, where her son (who's now 16) carried it.

I plan to cover this in black and add black/white ribbon/maybe some red. (trying to keep the red to a minimum)

My nephew who is supposed to be our ring bearer isnt sure he wants to be anymore, he would rather sit and watch he said, so if thats the case come closer to the date, he doesn't have to be, I'll see if one of my neices (flower girls) will carry the pillow or not, no biggie!

I liked these from a google search I did.. We'll see what I can come up with!

Monogrammed Match Boxes

I came across this idea on the following site.
http://www.projectwedding.com/wedding-ideas/diy-wedding-challenge-personalized-matches

I have since created the template with polka dots and damask using the monogram I created. I just haven't gotten the boxes yet to glue them to.  I'll post a picture as soon as I get a few done!

Ceremony Decor

I am thinking I (or someone) will do tulle swags on the isle chairs and hang red pomanders from them to create the isle look.

Tulle like this, and instead of the ribbons, pomanders like this.

The Ceremony space has 2 columns at the front to create an alter look, I am going to talk to my florist about making pieces to sit here, possibly Poinsettias but Mike hates these, and the idea is for it not to be too Christmasy..

I am thinking about creating these, I usually take the extras from wherever we buy our Christmas tree and make these for my front door. I think I might make ornaments w/ an S and M (maybe not in that order, dirty minds!) and hang on the ceremony room doors.

Center Pieces

Plan is to get large vases, like this. (minus the stuff inside!)

Put red beads/or marbles in the bottom, with 3-4 white floating candles.
I bought black and white 18 inch damask table squares from another bride, and will use these under the vase.

We will have a seperate room for the cocktail hour, I plan on using smaller centerpieces such as this on those tables.

I'll get a real red flower to put inside, since it will only be one flower per vase!

Cake Topper

So I bought this for $7 from theknot.com and when it arrived, I wasn't fully in love with it, so I added some 'Bling'

Below are a few pictures of the process.

Here's the finished product! This is much better, more of what I was looking for! Although in the picture the jewels look pink, they're actually red and clear.

Coffee Filter Roses

Here's the start with a brown filter, later to be painted red w/ black tips

Here's a bouquet of white filters not yet painted.

After painting them with water colors

Below are the finished product, a friend is getting married this weekend so I made her bouquet!
Hope she loves it!

Here's a picture of the bride holding them! She loved them and I am glad to have been a part in her special day!
This is a brown filter, with white primer and then painted red and then added the black tips, very time consuming, not sure it's worth the effort like the bouquet, as I was hoping to make pomanders out of them but I think I can find them for cheaper.

I bought a red pomander from Orientaltrading.com for around $7, I am going to play around with it and see if I can paint it or change the ribbon over to black to make it fit in better with my color scheme.

As of now, I am planning on making my toss bouquet out of these, so stay tuned! More to come!
